USCAA Golf Championships Day 1 Recap
Day one of the USCAA Golf National Championship was played on Monday at the Penn State Blue Course in State College, PA. In the men’s team competition, leading the way with a combined score of 297 is St. Mary of the Woods College. In second is Bluefield State College with a combined score of 303 and in third is Mississippi University for Women with a 304.
In the men’s individual competition, Jacob Gunther from Bluefield State College leads after day one with a score of 71. Tied for second are Logan Vernon and Justin Hopkins both from St. Mary of the Woods College with scores of 72. Tied for fourth are Ian Masonheimer from Penn State Lehigh Valley and Timothy Turnage from Mississippi University for Women with scores of 73.
In the women’s individual competition, there is a tie for first with scores of 81 between Emilee Miller from Carlow University, Ali Bazzani and Erin Williams from St. Mary of the Woods College. In fourth with a score of 82 is Cassidy Thompson from St. Mary of the Woods College. Currently in fifth with a score of 83 is Olivia Derbyshire from Mississippi University for Women.
Final round of the USCAA Golf National Championship will be played tomorrow to crown the men’s team champion and men’s & women’s individual champions.
