Softball End of the Year Awards
Softball Coach of the Year
In only his second season at his institution, amidst a pandemic, this coach has been able to have back-to-back 20 win seasons. He has also led his softball team to being ranked #1 almost all season in the USCAA polls. This season has been extremely challenging as a program as we initially had no field to practice or play on as our home facilities were closed due to COVID-19, yet this coach persevered as his institution had to rent a nearby high school softball field to utilize this season. He has led the Conquistadors softball team to a .642 winning percentage against an extremely difficult schedule that ranks 16th out of 186 in the NAIA, and the highest power ranking in the USCAA at .867.
Your 2021 USCAA Softball Coach of the Year, from Florida National University, John Pryor
Softball Student-Athlete of the Year
A business major who has excelled both in and out of the classroom throughout her college career. During her career at Scranton, this student-athlete has been very active both on and off the field while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA every semester of her time at Penn State. She is a peer tutor, an FYS (First Year Seminar) instructor, has placed first and second in the Undergraduate Research Fair in 2019 and 2020. She was a presenter at the PSU Regional Honors conference in 2018, a two-time recipient of the Evan Pugh Scholar award, the 2021 Eric A. and Josephine S. Walker Award recipient, is a captain and the starting second baseman on the softball team and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. She was the 2019 Greater Scranton Penn State Chapter Female Academic Athlete of the Year, volunteered through the Alternative Spring Break program in 2018 and 2019. She has won four PSUAC Academic All-Conference awards and four USCAA National All-Academic awards during her softball career. She is a member of the Lion Ambassadors, is the Secretary of the Business club and was the Business Senator in 2018. She serves as a student liaison for the Undergraduate Research Subcommittee and is a member of the Scranton Campus Food Committee. During the pandemic she found herself home in Pittsburgh where she did her internship with Profit First Chiro, a local female owned and run chiropractic clinic. There she handled many different marketing campaigns including creating their affiliate sales page, spearheading a four-day email campaign for a mini-summit they will be co-hosting for the Nationwide Chiropractic Association and designed and developed two marketing eBooks. On top of having a jammed packed schedule full of commitments and being top of her class academically, this student-athlete still finds the time to be a very involved volunteer in her church community. She serves as a volunteer Sunday school teacher and also as a volunteer for her church ministry newsletter.

Baseball End of the Year Awards
Baseball Coach of the Year
This coach has built his team into a national power house. However, he does it by making his players better men, and in turn they become better athletes. A few of the members of this team came back to play for another year after the season was cancelled last year. This is the program and family that Coach strived to build. With the past 2 USCAA World Series titles, Coach has gone 21-4 in this shortened season as well, and has been ranked in the top 4 in the country all season. Not many of his players get a lot of recognition because it is a team game, and they play it that way. There is no arguing about what stats they can get, or the win and loss column even, but how they conduct themselves as men, and how they will become better leaders and fathers in the future.
Your 2021 USCAA Baseball Coach of the Year, from Penn State Dubois, Tom Callari

One in Administration of Justice, One in Letter Arts and Sciences, and his certification in Chemical Dependency Prevention and Counseling. He has a 3.81 GPA and also volunteers time to help teach young kids develop their pitching skills
