POWERADE Jam Fest to be Held in Keating Sports Center
CHICAGO, Ill. – On Monday, March 27, the Keating Sports Center will be transformed to host one of high school basketball’s most prestigious events. As a part of the McDonald’s All American Games, the 2017 POWERADE® Jam Fest will be held at 31st and State at 7:00 p.m.
The event, which will be broadcast live nationally on ESPN2, features the nation’s top high school male and female basketball players competing in a variety of events, such as a Legends & Stars Shootout, Three-Point Shootout, and Slam Dunk Contest. Monday’s festivities precede the week’s main event, the 2017 McDonald’s All American Games, which will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at the United Center.
“Jam Fest is a national event which will bring some visibility to Illinois Tech's campus,” said Illinois Tech Director of Athletics Joe Hakes. “Keating Sports Center is a great venue to have the best high school basketball players in the country show off their skills. This shows the advantage of being in Chicago and Illinois Tech's reputation in the world's greatest city.”
Tickets to the POWERADE Jam Fest can be purchased here. Doors to the Keating Sports Center will open at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
The Keating Sports Center will be shutdown for the entire day on Monday, March 27 in preparation of the event. In addition, the main court will be offline from Friday, March 24 until Tuesday, March 28.

Shumaker Inducted Into NCWA Hall Of Fame
In his final appearance at the NCWA National Championships, Coach Bruce Shumaker was inducted into the NCWA Hall of Fame on Saturday night. Coach Shumaker is set to retire after coaching at the Apprentice School for the last ten years. During his tenure he has graduated many stellar apprentices, numerous All-Americans, and has one national championship. Coach Shumaker has helped develop the Apprentice School wrestling program into a nationally recognized program.
