Oakwood advances to semifinals with 67-59 win over Robert Morris-Springfield
BROKEN ARROW, OKLA. - Terrell Black and James Doggette scored 22 points apiece for sixth-seeded Oakwood University as they defeated third-seeded Robert Morris-Springfield 67-59 in the 2008 US Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball National Tournament on Thursday.
The Ambassadors rode a 37-29 rebounding advantage, including a 13-5 offensive rebounding margin to the quarterfinal victory. Dewitt Henley and Mike Connor added seven points apiece for the victory.
Oakwood shot 41.4% from the floor for the game (24-of-58), while Robert Morris-Springfield actually was better from the floor at 47.9% (23-of-48).
Kari Coleman was the leading scorer for Robert Morris with 15 points, while Tyler Moretto added 14 and Tim Hahn scored 10.
Oakwood advances to a 4 pm semifinal against the winner of Rhema Bible-Apprentice School, while Robert Morris-Springfield faces the loser of that game at 10 am on Friday.
