The United States Collegiate Athletic Association is proud to announce that Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) will join the association for the 2008-09 season.
"Joining the USCAA allows us to immediately compete on a national stage against other colleges and universities of similar mission and similar enrollment, "said NNMC Athletic Director Enzley Mitchell IV. As a college with a brand new athletic program this gives our student-athletes a great opportunity to focus on the full experience of college academics and athletic competition."
Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. They have an enrollment of over 2,500 full-time and part-time students per semester and offer bachelor's degrees in business administration, elementary education, nursing, biology, engineering, music, environmental science and information technology.
Founded in 1909 in El Rito as a Spanish-American Normal School, its mission was to teach Spanish speaking teachers English. Over the years NNMC has filled the role as a vocational tech school and a community college. In 2005 NNMC transitioned from a community college to full college.
NNMC fields two intercollegiate athletic teams, women's basketball and men's basketball. For more information on Northern New Mexico College athletics, contact Athletic Director Enzley Mitchell at emitchell@nnnc.edu.
