Player of the Week
Men's Basketball Division I:
Pete Trgovich is the Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Trgovich is a senior guard at Indiana University Northwest. Pete had a scoring outburst of 44 points on the road against Robert-Morris Springfield, in which he shot 50% from the field, including seven three pointers.
Men's Basketball Division II:
Derek Helms is the Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Helms is a sophomore guard at Eastern Maine CC. Derek averaged 17 points and six rebounds over three games last week, including a double-double against NHTI on Saturday and a 24 point performance against Hesser College the following day.
Women's Basketball:
Ashley McQuillan is the Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. McQuillan is a sophomore guard at St. Joseph's College. Ashley led her team by averaging 24 points on 58 percent shooting over two games. Highlights include a win over Lancaster Bible, in which Ashley scored 28 points with four threes and four assists in 24 minutes of play.
Sharon Houston is the Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Houston is a sophomore forward at Indiana University Northwest. Sharon averaged 30 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks in two games last week. Sharon broke her own single game scoring record with 43 points in a win over Marygrove College.
Honorable Mention:
Men's Basketball Division I:
Jametrius Brasher is the Division I Men's Basketball Honorable Mention Player of the Week. Brasher, a freshman forward at Spalding University, compiled 27 points, 13 rebounds and a steal in two games last week.
Men's Basketball Division II:
Jordan Wheelock is the Division II Men's Basketball Honorable Mention Player of the Week. Wheelock, a freshman guard at NHTI, served as an offensive spark off the bench this week. Jordan scored 27 points in two games, including six three pointers.
Women's Basketball:
Jessica Bartges is a Women's Basketball Honorable Mention Player of the Week. Bartges is a junior guard at Penn State Beaver. Jessica led her team this week, averaging 15 points and nine rebounds, including a double-double in a win against a 17-1 Ohio University Eastern team.
